About the Role
Renewable Energy Service is looking for a fully qualified electrician to join our team as both a Solar PV & Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Installer and Qualified Supervisor (QS).
This is a dual-purpose role combining hands-on installation work with responsibility for maintaining our NICEIC and MCS accreditation standards.
You will install, commission, and maintain solar PV and battery storage systems across domestic and commercial properties, working alongside our roofing team.
Alongside installation duties, you will act as the company's Qualified Supervisor, ensuring all electrical work complies with current regulations and that certification is completed accurately and on time.
The role is primarily based in the Midlands with occasional travel to project sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Installation
Install solar PV systems and battery energy storage solutions to a high standard on domestic and commercial premises.
Carry out electrical wiring, testing, and commissioning of all systems.
Work closely with the roofing team to coordinate installations efficiently and safely.
Complete installation reports, documentation, and certification accurately.
Ensure all work complies with BS7671, MCS standards, and current building regulations.
Provide professional customer service on-site.
Qualified Supervisor
Undertake the role of Qualified Supervisor as defined by the NICEIC, ensuring compliance with all aspects of NICEIC accreditation.
Oversee and verify electrical inspection and testing results across projects.
Carry out regular site surveys on compliance and quality, compiling detailed reports and communicating findings to the team.
Inspect and sign off electrical certification issued by RES engineers and any sub-contractors, ensuring full compliance with BS7671 and NICEIC standards.
Ensure all MCS-certified installations meet the required standards for accreditation.
Be available for NICEIC audits and annual assessments.
Liaise directly with NICEIC and MCS bodies as required.
Requirements
Essential
Fully qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent approved qualification).
18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018, C&G 2382 or later including current amendments).
Inspection and Testing qualification (C&G 2391 or equivalent).
Proven experience installing solar PV systems and battery storage.
Previous experience in a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor role or readiness to step into the role.
Understanding of MCS standards and accreditation requirements.
Full UK driving licence.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
ECS Card.
Experience with leading inverter and battery brands.
Experience across both domestic and commercial-scale projects.
Desirable
IPAF, PASMA, or working-at-height certifications.
SSSTS / SMSTS. CSCS
